Guide

The whole job, step by step.

From the vessel and the checklist on deck to the compiled report, the client signature and the invoice. Steps marked optional can be skipped — you can go straight from starting a survey to writing the report.

  1. 01

    Get your account

Accounts are issued by hand during the invitation period. Add your professional details — body and membership number, PI insurance and signature. Your credentials appear on every report you produce.

  2. 02Optional

    Track your jobs

Every enquiry lives in one pipeline — quoted, booked, surveying, invoiced, paid. The survey is a stage in the job, not a separate pile of paperwork. Skip this if you just want to write a report.

  3. 03

    Start a survey

Pick the vessel from the database — or a generic template if it is not listed — set the survey type, keel and hull, and you are ready to inspect. The full component checklist is built for you automatically.

    Start a survey
  4. 04

    Open the survey

The boat, by system. Each card is a category with progress, findings and estimated repairs. Work on deck or in the bilge — everything saves as you go and syncs when you reconnect.

    Open the survey
  5. 05

    Inspect a component

Open a system, then a component. Mark Pass, Monitor, Advisory or Action. Costs attach from Advisory up. The checklist, notes, photos and voice sit on the same card.

  6. 06

    Tap to add the note

Mark a result and the app drafts a note for that selection — a starter instantly, then AI options. Tap to add it to Notes, time-stamped. You stay the author; it just types the first sentence.

  7. 07Optional

    Attach photos

Take or upload photos on the same card. They file against that component and go into the report — no separate photo dump to sort later.

    Attach photos
  8. 08Optional

    Use your voice

Hold the mic and speak: “pull up hull & structure”, “set VHF to passed”, or dictate a note. Hands stay on the boat; the card keeps up.

  9. 09

    Compile the report

Findings, narrative and graded recommendations come together automatically. Review the verdict, then value the vessel and tidy the document.

  10. 10

    Value the vessel

The figure is derived from the survey outcome — condition, findings and outstanding work — weighted across fourteen system groups. Then it is grounded in a live search of current brokerage listings for the same model — YachtWorld, Rightboat, ApolloDuck and others — adjusted for year and length, with asking prices discounted toward sold. Sale, insurance and lending bases sit on one card; you adopt the comps before they print.

  11. 11

    Edit your report

Every section of the document, in the order it prints. Tidy the narrative, adjust the valuation wording, and export a branded PDF or Word file when it is ready.

    Edit your report
  12. 12

    Share with your client

Send a secure client-portal link — no login needed for them. They view the report, photos and findings, and sign off online; you get a timestamped acknowledgement.

    Invoice and get paid

Raise an auto-numbered invoice from the report in one click, email it, and track it through to paid — with overdue reminders handled for you.

We are looking for a small number of practising surveyors to take it on real jobs and tell us what it gets wrong. No charge during the invitation period.
